I strongly suspect that we'll come to find much earlier examples of therianthropy as archaeology marches on... not that 35,000 years ago isn't already an amazing amount of time to consider.
I agree with you and I feel it won't be made by Homo Sapiens, we've found musical instruments and other jewellery made by Neanderthals, so who knows....
